In the beginning...
The present building was built in 1928 on a local housing estate called Mangravet, Maidstone. In the 1960s, a young couple began what would become a thriving children's outreach on the estate. In 1970 the young couple, and a team of people that were working with them, were invited by the then congregation to use and eventually take over the current building, which is now home to Grace Community Church.
Fast forward to 1989, Grace Community Church (formally known as Grove Road Christian Fellowship) came under the leadership of Manna Christian Fellowship, another Assemblies of God church based in central Maidstone. GCC remained a part of the fellowship until 2007 when Manna planted 5 congregations around Maidstone town, one of which being Grace Community Church.
Over the years the church has grown and as a community, we continue to have the vision to be a focal part of the estate and want to serve and be a blessing to the wider neighborhood.
Fast forward to the present day...
Grace Community Church is currently led by Charles and Becky Keith who joined our family in October 2019. We are currently undergoing a building extension, also known as our building project, for which we have been raising funds over the past few years. The building work began in Summer 2021 when our back building, which was used for Sunday School, has now been knocked down and new foundations have been laid to create a newer and better building!
